SYM Launches Revamped JET Scooter Series with Enhanced Power and Safety Features

Taiwanese motorcycle manufacturer SYM has unveiled its newly redesigned JET series, comprising the JET SL and JET SL+ models. These white-plate sport scooters boast a more aggressive, next-generation exterior design, enhanced engine performance, and the latest Z.R.S.G. 3.0 electric drive system, marking a comprehensive evolution. The new models are priced from 110,000 New Taiwan Dollars.

The updated SYM JET series features a sharper, more aerodynamic profile, retaining the classic dual-headlights and upswept tail. The VA full-color instrument panel maximizes the display of essential information like RPM and speed, offering both visual appeal and practicality. A newly introduced, lighter (10% reduction) and more rigid "sport frame" has been optimized for ergonomics. Handlebar height has been raised, knee interference reduced, and front foot space enlarged. The seat design has also been modified to provide more space for the front rider.

In terms of power, the JET SL+ features an optimized cylinder head, increasing intake and exhaust flow by 20% and 18% respectively. This boosts maximum horsepower from 15.8ps to 16.3ps (excluding electric drive). Combined with the ZRSG 3.0 electric drive system, fuel efficiency has improved from 45.9 km/L to 47.0 km/L, providing robust power delivery through electric assistance.

SYM has also upgraded the braking system, enlarging the front disc to 268mm. An IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) gyroscope sensor is now integrated into the front, enabling real-time detection of various riding data. Crucially, the scooters now feature cornering ABS and cornering TCS (Traction Control System) for significantly enhanced riding safety. Considering the JET's inherently short wheelbase, the ALC anti-lift system has been introduced for the first time to mitigate risks associated with the front wheel lifting during rapid acceleration.
