Syrian expat in coma after 'bed fall'; Kuwait CID probes possible foul play

Kuwaiti authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Syrian expatriate's critical injury after he fell into a coma. The Ministry of Interior became involved when a government hospital reported the man's admission in an unconscious state, following an account of a fall from a height.

Investigators questioned the man's daughter, who stated that her father had fallen from a bed and cried out for help. She then rushed him to the hospital. However, this explanation raised suspicions among the authorities, as the circumstances did not appear entirely convincing. Security sources indicated that all possibilities, including foul play, are being considered.

The condition of the injured expatriate and his ability to provide a statement once his health improves will be crucial in verifying the details of the incident. Specialized teams are working to ascertain whether the injuries resulted from an accidental fall from a low height or from another cause. The Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the case and will conduct further inquiries with the daughter, the expatriate's wife, and any potential witnesses present at the time of the incident.
