SYRIZA Central Committee votes to nullify support for another party, reinstate Polakis

SYRIZA's Central Committee has made a decisive shift, voting unanimously to continue its meeting on July 18-19 and effectively nullifying a previous decision to politically support another party. This move signals a strategic pivot as the party intensifies preparations for upcoming elections and aims to forge new alliances.

The committee's resolution stated that the June 6 decision had become "void of content" following public statements from party officials and the leader of the Hellenic Left Cooperation. Consequently, SYRIZA will now expedite its election readiness and work towards building an electoral coalition with interested parties.

Furthermore, the committee recognized the political necessity of reinstating Pavlos Polakis to the parliamentary group. This decision comes after Polakis himself posted on social media, declaring the "plan b" a failure and asserting that the Central Committee would make key decisions, including his return to the parliamentary group.

The committee's unanimous vote, held despite what Polakis described as a "furious war" from certain party officials, underscores a push for unity and a renewed focus on electoral strategy. The party is now set to finalize its political and organizational measures in the coming weeks.
