Tacuary Turns to Experienced Coach Robert Pereira Molina

Tacuary has turned to a familiar figure to steady its campaign in Paraguay’s División Intermedia. Robert Pereira Molina returns for his fifth spell at the club, which is fighting near the bottom of the standings with eight rounds remaining.

The club began 2026 under Édgar Denis, who left after a run of poor results. Braulio Armoa then took over but could not lift the team, prompting the leadership headed by Guillermo Vera to change coaches again.

Pereira Molina has a long history with Tacuary, known as El Buque. He previously coached the Barrio Jara club in 2018, when it won promotion, and later worked there in 2022, 2023 and 2024 in the top division.

The new coach was presented on Sunday at the Toribio Vargas stadium. He has little time to prepare before Wednesday’s match against Encarnación, scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Itapúa capital.

Tacuary’s record stands at three wins, 10 draws and nine defeats, with 24 goals scored and 36 conceded. The club is relying on Pereira Molina’s experience, but the article says the players’ ability to absorb his instructions will be decisive as the team begins its run of eight crucial matches.
