Tahfiz students join search for missing drowning victims by reciting the azan

Seven tahfiz students went to Tanjung Lompat beach in Kota Tinggi to support the search for three people still missing after drowning.

The students, from Madrasatul Quran Ar-Redha in Taman Desaru Utama, took the initiative themselves, said the school’s director, Ustaz Muhammad Redza Imran Abdullah. They received permission from the victims’ families before joining the search operation being conducted by the authorities.

All seven students have completed memorizing the 30 chapters of the Quran. They are between 11 and 17 years old. Alongside reciting the azan, they held special prayers and prayers for safety.

Fauziah Misri, the Penawar state assemblywoman, advised the public not to take part in beach activities, particularly swimming, in the area because of strong waves and winds. She said the beach is not open to the public and is mainly used for fishing, and expressed hope that warning signs would be installed.
