Taichung Launches Taiwan's First 3D Real Estate Transaction Platform

Taichung City's Land Administration Bureau has pioneered a 3D real estate transaction platform, a first in Taiwan, designed to provide unprecedented transparency in property dealings. This innovative system integrates 3D building models with real estate transaction data, offering users a clear, visual representation of properties.

The platform, developed through inter-departmental collaboration, utilizes self-developed technologies like "six-parameter coordinate transformation" and "multi-dimensional vector interpolation." It connects 3D building model vector files with the real estate transaction database, creating a query platform with stereoscopic perspective functions. Currently, it offers detailed 3D views for about 100,000 housing units, the highest number nationwide.

Bureau Chief Tseng Kuo-chun explained that traditional flat maps and tables made it difficult for the public to grasp crucial information such as floor height and unit location. The new 3D perspective model allows users to instantly understand a building's exterior, orientation, floor position, and the relative location of units. This significantly boosts the transparency and intuitiveness of property information.

Future plans include expanding the 3D building data in line with the Ministry of the Interior's "Towards a 3D Smart Land - National Base Map Spatial Data Infrastructure Construction Plan." The ultimate goal is to create a complete digital virtual city 3D map, providing citizens with more precise and comprehensive land information services, thereby realizing the full digitalization of land information and the transparency of building prices.
