Taichung Mayoral Candidate Slams Incumbent for Public Endorsement

Ho Hsin-chun, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate for Taichung mayor, has sharply criticized incumbent Mayor Lu Shiow-yen for publicly campaigning for Kuomintang (KMT) candidate Chiang Chi-chen. Ho asserted that the decision of who leads the city rests solely with the citizens of Taichung.

During an event where Ho announced her pet-friendly policy proposals, media questioned her about Lu's strong endorsement of Chiang. Lu had stated at a public event commemorating the 68th anniversary of the August 23 Artillery Battle that Chiang would be the "next Taichung mayor."
