Speculation is mounting that Lin Ching-ling, once lauded as the "most beautiful former village chief" in Taichung, may be preparing to re-enter politics by running for a city council seat. Lin, who previously served as the chief of Kung-min Village in West District, has been actively engaging with the community, leading to whispers of a potential campaign for the upcoming election.

Lin ran as an independent candidate for the Taichung City Council in the 2022 elections.
