Taichung's Shuiliu Transfer Center Opens Aug. 5, Lobby Piano to Welcome Public Performances

Taichung's new Shuiliu Transfer Center is set to open its doors on August 5, bringing a unique artistic touch to the public transportation hub. Beyond its functional role, the center will feature a Yamaha grand piano in its main lobby, inviting travelers to share their musical talents.

The initiative is a collaboration with Rotary International District 3461, which donated the instrument as part of its "Secondhand Piano Regeneration and Peace City Service Project." This program breathes new life into pre-owned pianos, repurposing them for public enjoyment and cultural enrichment.

Taichung Transportation Bureau Director Ye Zhaofu highlighted the project's aim to create a welcoming atmosphere. Ye expressed hope that the public piano would encourage more people to play, filling the center with melodies and harmonizing with the adjacent Green Green Picture Art Museum.
