Taichung's ShuiNan Transfer Center Opens August 5th with Nine Bus Routes

Taichung's new ShuiNan Transfer Center is set to open its doors on August 5th, marking a significant enhancement to the city's public transportation network. To facilitate convenient transfers and connect vital city landmarks, nine initial city bus routes will commence operations from the center starting August 6th.

The transfer center is strategically located to serve as a hub for the ShuiNan Economic and Trade Park, linking important nodes such as the Taichung International Convention Center, the Green Museum, and the ShuiNan park itself. It also aims to provide seamless connections to Taichung High-Speed Rail Station and Taichung International Airport.

Taichung Transportation Bureau Director Ye Zhaofu stated that the center's opening is crucial for managing increased foot and vehicle traffic expected with the operation of the Green Museum and International Convention Center. The bureau has already adjusted bus routes since October last year to improve efficiency during large events.

After the ShuiNan Economic and Trade Park's Green Museum and Taichung International Convention Center begin operations, passenger and vehicle traffic will increase. The city government adjusted bus routes last October for large events and exhibitions to improve transportation efficiency.

Of the nine routes beginning service on August 6th, seven will use the ShuiNan Transfer Center as their origin, destination, or a key stop. These include routes serving Feng Chia University and the city center (Route 25), traversing Liming Road (Route 54), heading to Taichung Station (Routes 82 and 108), going to Tunghai University (Route 354), connecting the city hall and Longjing (Route 675), and a newly established "Green Museum and Convention Center Circular Bus."

Additionally, two express bus routes will operate from the center: Route 555, connecting Taichung International Airport with MRT Wenxin Senior High School Station, and Route 156, providing direct service to Taichung High-Speed Rail Station. These routes will enable rapid transfers to air, rail, and MRT services. Travelers driving to the airport can utilize the center's underground parking and take Route 555 directly, potentially easing parking congestion around the airport.
