Taichung is gearing up for a vibrant summer, offering a diverse range of activities and encouraging visitors to explore its historic downtown. The city's tourism calendar is packed with events, including the "Taichung Movie Fun-In Season," the "Qingshui Art Season," the "Taichung Shiqian Hot Air Balloon Carnival" from August 22 to 24, and the "Taichung Bicycle Carnival" on August 29.

The Taichung City Government's Tourism and Travel Bureau is promoting short trips to the city, inviting travelers to experience the charm of cultural and creative accommodations in the old downtown area. This region, the birthplace of Taichung's urban development, boasts rich historical and cultural resources. Landmarks such as the National Historic Site Taichung Station, Second Market, Central Bookstore, and Taichung Hall, along with unique spots like Miyahara, narrate the city's development story.

The bureau highlights several distinctive cultural and creative hotels in the central district that blend history with modern design. These include "Blue Sky Hotel," which evokes the mod era of 1969 with industrial and retro aesthetics; "Ci Tong Flower Cultural and Creative Inn," known for its unique ambiance created by patterned window light; "HOTEL TAICHUNG OKU," featuring a three-story wine tower as its lobby centerpiece; and "Traveler Inn," which has earned a Green Travel System (GTS) mark and operates as a low-carbon hotel.
