Tainan City Appoints 78 School Principals in Handover Ceremony

Tainan City celebrated the appointment and handover ceremony for new and transferred school principals on July 31, marking the beginning of the 115th academic year. The event, held at Yongren High School, saw 78 principal appointment letters distributed, including 19 for newly appointed principals, 31 for those transferred, and 28 for reappointed leaders.

Vice Mayor Yeh Tze-shan addressed the gathering, acknowledging the rapid advancement of AI but stressing its inability to replace the human connection teachers provide. "What is awarded today is not just one letter of appointment, nor is it just the handover of a seal, but the entrustment of responsibility for the school, the expectations of the teachers, and the parents' trust in their children's future," Yeh stated. He urged the principals to leverage their professional expertise to advance their schools and foster better futures for teachers and students.

Representatives of the new, transferred, and reappointed principals took an oath of office, symbolizing the continuation of educational legacy. The ceremony also honored 16 retired principals and one retired kindergarten principal, recognizing their years of service. New principal representatives shared their commitment to their upcoming roles and visions for their schools, while retired principals reflected on their educational journeys.
