Tainan launches post-heavy rain aid applications until Sept. 30

Tainan is accelerating disaster recovery efforts after days of heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding across the city. Mayor Huang Wei-che has directed city officials to expedite assistance for affected residents and businesses, implementing a relief program similar to one established after previous floods.

The city government is coordinating with national aid standards to provide subsidies for flooded homes, damaged appliances, and business losses. This comprehensive approach aims to help citizens and businesses quickly resume their normal lives and operations.

Households with floodwaters reaching at least 50 centimeters and who actually reside in the property will receive 15,000 Tainan dollars in flood relief, in addition to a 20,000 dollar central government subsidy, totaling 35,000 dollars. Homes with floodwaters between 15 and 50 centimeters will receive a 10,000 dollar subsidy.

Applications for all forms of assistance and relief must be submitted by September 30. Affected individuals can contact their local district offices or the 1999 citizen service hotline for inquiries. The city government pledges to fully support the swift recovery of all affected citizens and businesses.
