Tainan park opens inclusive playground themed around Jiangjun carrots

A new playground shaped around Jiangjun’s carrot industry has opened at Feishalun Park in Tainan, giving children a space designed for play, exercise and family time.

The inclusive recreation area combines the district’s agricultural identity and local culture with facilities intended for people of different ages and needs. Many of the designs feature cheerful carrot shapes. Equipment for children aged 5 to 12 includes climbing structures, slides, swings and balance activities.

The Jiangjun District Office spent about NT$22.745 million on improvements to the park and construction of the playground. Central government funding contributed NT$4.245 million. The project also upgraded benches, greenery and lighting to improve comfort and safety throughout the park.

Tainan Deputy Mayor Jiang Lin-huang said the playground would improve the quality of local public space and provide a place for families, residents and community interaction. Jiangjun District Chief Chang Chieh-chun said the work preserved the park’s existing greenery while adding inclusive play facilities that allow children to explore, take on challenges and develop coordination through play.
