Music Waves Sweep New Taipei Metropolitan Park as River and Sea Festival Reaches Finale

Music fans filled New Taipei Metropolitan Park as the final stop of the city’s River and Sea Music Festival brought pop, rock, R&B and independent sounds to two stages.

Twelve acts performed from the afternoon into the night, while visitors moved between the concerts, market stalls and food vendors. Clear-voiced newcomer Kuo Chia-wei opened the main stage, followed by PALLAS and ANGIE. The all-Taiwanese-language band Sorry Youth then raised the energy with its rock set, before multi-instrumentalist 小宇 Song Nian-yu brought a distinctive R&B sound.

Bii closed the main stage with familiar songs that prompted a full-crowd singalong. The smaller stage offered a closer format, featuring Resonance, KJ Chao Kuang-chieh, Lin Chieh-hsin, Rong Band, PiA Wu Pei-ya and VH.

New Taipei Mayor Hou You-yi walked through the market, spoke with visitors and watched performances on both stages. He said the festival’s musical wave began along the Bali riverfront, continued to the Tamsui River and Gongliao coast, and concluded at New Taipei Metropolitan Park.

Hou said the event turned public urban space into a lively venue for music and performance, giving residents access to different musical styles and cultural trends within the city.
