Tainan promotes local products at Sendai Tanabata Festival during Japan visit

Tainan City's Deputy Mayor Yeh Tze-shan visited Japan's Tohoku region to foster exchanges and promote local products. During the trip, the delegation visited Akita City and Sendai City, participating in the Sendai Tanabata Festival.

At the festival, Tainan set up a promotional booth showcasing its specialty products, with visitors enthusiastically sampling Tainan mangoes and praising their deliciousness. Deputy Mayor Yeh personally introduced Tainan's produce and city features to tourists from Japan and abroad.

Akita Kanto Festival was invited to participate in the 'Nanying International Folk Arts Festival' in 2024. Visiting Akita to watch the Kanto Festival, I felt the charm of festival culture even more deeply, and I sincerely invite Akita to participate in the Nanying International Folk Arts Festival again in the future, so that more Tainan citizens can experience Akita's traditional culture.

The visit also included meetings with local officials. In Akita City, Yeh expressed gratitude for Akita's participation in the "Nanying International Folk Arts Festival" and invited them to future events. He also thanked Akita for its reciprocal tourism initiative, which offers discounts at 10 scenic spots, encouraging Tainan residents to visit.

In Sendai, Yeh met with Deputy Mayor Fujimoto Akira and attended the Tanabata Festival. He highlighted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Tainan-Sendai sister city relationship. Yeh thanked Sendai for its continuous support in providing opportunities for Tainan to participate in festivals and promote its products, expressing hope for expanded exchanges in tourism, culture, and trade.
