Tainan's Hulu Pond Hosts Summer Water Festival with New Activities and Prizes

Tainan City is heating up with its "2026 Hulu Pond Play in the Pond" summer water festival, offering a splash of fun at Hulu Pond Natural Park. The event, running on select weekends in July and August, invites the public to enjoy a variety of water-based activities designed to beat the summer heat. New attractions this year include windsurfing, banana boats, and sea tanks, complementing popular options like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).

Beyond the water, the festival boasts a lively atmosphere with a themed market and stage performances. Visitors can participate in water and land-based challenges, with chances to win prizes. Mayor Huang Wei-che highlighted Hulu Pond as an ideal family destination, suggesting nearby visits to the Guantian Waterfowl Ecological Education Park and Longtian Cha Cha Cultural Heritage Education Park for a comprehensive summer experience.

The Tainan City Tourism Bureau secured a 64.05 million NT dollar grant for park improvements, completing upgrades to pathways, waterfront areas, and recreational spaces in April. These enhancements aim to provide a refreshed environment for visitors. The festival continues the "water play" theme, with new experiences like windsurfing and affordable banana boat and sea tank rides promising to keep attendees entertained.
