Taipei Confucius Temple Offers Exam Blessings with Lucky Pens and 'Success Socks'

As the crucial examination season approaches, Taipei's Confucius Temple is stepping up to offer a spiritual boost to students. On April 25th, the temple will hold its annual "Sheng Xian Ling Hang, Bu Bu Deng Ke" (Sages Leading the Way, Step by Step to Success) prayer event. This ceremony is designed to instill confidence in students facing upcoming entrance exams and civil service tests. Through a ritual of "one bow for wisdom, two bows for inspiration, and three bows for fulfilled wishes," the temple aims to help students perform calmly and competently under pressure.

This year's event introduces a special highlight: custom-designed "Bu Bu Deng Ke" socks, symbolizing a steady ascent in one's career or academic path. These socks, made in Taiwan, feature embroidered Q-version Confucius figures and the calligraphy of "step by step to success" on the heel, encouraging students to tread firmly and confidently on their study journey. Alongside the socks, students will receive a "lucky guiding pen" to write down their aspirations, aiding in mental clarity and focus. The ritual involves bowing to Confucius in the main hall.

Further enhancing the experience, Taipei Confucius Temple has partnered with the Taipei Post Office for a "See You on 9/28, Time-Traveling Postcard" activity. Students can collect a postcard by showing their exam admission ticket and write a message to their future selves. These postcards will be stored by the temple and mailed on the "9/28 Shi Dian Grand Ceremony" day, offering a warm encouragement from their past selves as they enter a new phase of life. Additionally, a "check-in and like" social media task is planned, with participants receiving a "luck-doubling" cupcake featuring a Q-version Confucius, symbolizing full confidence and doubled good fortune.
