Taipei mayor suggests consulting Kaohsiung counterpart on Taylor Swift invitation

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an suggested that when considering an invitation for pop superstar Taylor Swift to perform in Taiwan, it would be beneficial to consult with Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai and Legislator Lai Jui-lung. Chiang's remarks came in response to a discussion about fostering a "Taipei Taylor Swift" by a DPP Taipei mayoral candidate.

He assured that Kaohsiung possesses well-equipped large venues and is capable of managing city-level support, large-scale transportation, and fan engagement activities, aiming to provide the best concert experience for fans.

While Taipei has historically been proactive in pursuing major international artists, Kaohsiung appears to be adopting a more reserved stance, focusing on its capacity to support events rather than initiating bids for specific performers.
