Taipei's Tōtsū district to host 'Tipsy Party' with beer, yukatas, and live music

Taipei's Zhongshan District is set to host the "Tōtsū Tipsy Party" on September 5th, transforming a section of Tianjin Street into a lively celebration. Organized by the Tōtsū Business District and Community Development Association, the event, themed "A Tipsy Night, Just Right," promises an evening of unlimited beer, specialty foods, yukata (Japanese summer kimono) experiences, and live music.

The festivities will feature eight unique stalls and five popular food trucks, offering a wide array of culinary delights from Taiwanese snacks like salt and pepper chicken to Sichuan cuisine, dim sum, American burgers, and Japanese yakisoba. The culinary journey is designed to satisfy diverse palates from dusk till late.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the event's stage will host performances by talented artists including "Jia Ling +0," "Zhi Rou Nicole," "Wei Zhe Wei," and "Sun Pei En," the lead singer of WooHoo. These musical acts are expected to complement the street party ambiance, encouraging attendees to savor food, drinks, and music amidst the charming Tōtsū streetscape.

Association chairperson Wu Mei-ying highlighted the unique charm of Tōtsū's alleyways and its Japanese-Taiwanese flair, noting that the three-year-old party has become a highly anticipated annual event for both older and younger generations. "We are not just creating a lively urban party," Wu stated, "but also inviting everyone to explore local businesses and experience the captivating stories of Tōtsū as the night unfolds."

Early bird tickets are priced at NT$399 for individuals and NT$750 for pairs, offering unlimited beer, a specialty food set, a limited-edition "Tōtsū Tipsy" glow-in-the-dark cup, yukata experience, and live music. The custom cup can be taken home as a souvenir, serving as a memorable photo opportunity with the yukata and Tianjin Street scenery. Additionally, a "Tōtsū Consumption Rewards" campaign will run from September 1st to October 31st, offering gifts for purchases over NT$250 at participating stores.
