Taiwan Glass chairman's wife posts, deletes rumor about Faye Wong and Nicholas Tse; reveals surprising background

Hsu Li-ling, the wife of Taiwan Glass chairman and founder of the Xuexue Institute of Visual Arts, recently posted and then deleted a rumor alleging that Nicholas Tse and Faye Wong had jointly harmed Cecilia Cheung. The post sparked considerable discussion, drawing public criticism from figures like renowned producer "Kuan Jie" Chiu Li-kwan. Ultimately, Hsu Li-ling quietly removed the article.

The 73-year-old Hsu Li-ling holds a significant position in Taiwan's aesthetics and cultural and creative sectors. She is also the mother-in-law of Peng Kang-yu, known as "Xiao Dao," a member of the popular Taiwanese boy band "5566."

Hsu Li-ling graduated with a degree in fine arts from Chinese Culture University and earned a master's degree from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. She also completed an internship at a Japanese fashion company. Upon returning to Taiwan, she became the general manager of "Zhongxing Department Store," a landmark establishment in the 1980s, earning her the title "Godmother of Taiwanese Aesthetics." During her tenure, she was instrumental in promoting many renowned Taiwanese designers on the international stage.

Hsu Li-ling also has connections to the entertainment industry. Her stepdaughter, Lin Wen-ching, is the second daughter of the Taiwan Glass chairman. Lin Wen-ching married "Xiao Dao" in 2012. Their wedding was a high-profile event, reportedly costing NT$5.45 million and featuring former Kuomintang honorary chairman Lien Chan as the witness. Many prominent political and business figures, including Wang Jin-pyng and Wu Poh-hsiung, attended to offer their congratulations.
