Taiwan Legislator and Association Host 17th Annual Father's Day Care Event

Legislator Lai Hui-yuan and the Tainan Sisters Association jointly organized a Father's Day appreciation event in Xinying's Nan-ying Green Heart Park. The annual event, now in its 17th year, offered free services including haircuts, blood pressure checks, and massages. The initiative aims to provide care and warmth to elders, disadvantaged families, and local residents as Father's Day approaches.

Lai Hui-yuan emphasized the importance of recognizing fathers' hard work and often unspoken sacrifices. She highlighted that services like free haircuts and massages are designed to help fathers and elders relax and feel the community's support. The event fosters a warm and lively atmosphere, with this year's addition of an ice-eating competition adding an element of fun.

Fathers always shoulder the heavy burden of the family, and their hard work is often not easily expressed. Through services that are close to daily life, such as free haircuts, massages, and blood pressure checks, we hope that fathers and elders who have worked hard all year can rest well and feel the care and warmth of society.

Huang Chih-fang, chairperson of the Sisters Association, credited the event's 17-year success to the collective support of the association, businesses, community groups, medical partners, and local collaborators. He stressed that caring for the elderly and vulnerable should be an everyday practice. The association plans to continue integrating resources from community groups and local partners to promote more health care, public welfare services, and outreach activities. Their goal is to ensure those in need receive support and to cultivate Xibei into a more compassionate and mutually supportive region.
