Taiwan MRT line to feature station music by Golden Melody winner

New Taipei City's Airport MRT line is set to debut a unique auditory experience with two specially composed station arrival music tracks. Renowned music producer Chou Yueh-cheng, a two-time Golden Melody Award winner, has crafted these pieces to reflect the cultural heritage of the Sanxia and Yingge districts.

The music integrates elements like ceramics, indigo dyeing, and traditional indigenous instruments. The "Classic Edition" features a delicate symphony inspired by the crafting of pottery and the flowing imagery of indigo dyeing, with gentle instrumental touches mimicking the refinement process. The "Original Sound Edition," designed for the station near the indigenous cultural park, incorporates the indigenous bamboo instrument "Kakeng," creating a harmonious and calming atmosphere.

New Taipei City's Department of Rapid Transit Systems Director Li Cheng-an stated that the Sanxia-Yingge line is more than just transportation; it's a carrier of local culture. The project, which includes the station music, signifies a move from structural development to public aesthetics and software integration for the line.

Passengers will soon be able to listen to these compositions on station platforms and trains once the line opens. The music is currently available for online preview on the New Taipei City Department of Rapid Transit Systems official website.
