Taiwan's largest Dolby Cinema to open in Taichung's new landmark

Taichung movie enthusiasts are anticipating the arrival of a major new entertainment destination with the upcoming opening of the 'Taichung Popular Music Center.' Located in the Shu湳 Economic and Trade Park, this ambitious project, backed by a 1.7 billion yuan investment, is slated to officially open in the first half of 2027. The center aims to become a vibrant hub for various creative industries, including animation, comics, games, pop music, and film and television.

Central to the complex's appeal will be its state-of-the-art cinema facilities, operated by Vieshow Cinemas. The venue will boast nine theaters with a total of 1,628 seats. Among these, the highlight is Taiwan's largest Dolby Cinema, featuring 394 seats. This theater will adhere to Dolby's stringent standards, integrating Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for an unparalleled audiovisual experience. It will also uniquely feature an AVP immersive entrance corridor, designed to enhance the cinematic atmosphere from the moment patrons enter.

Beyond the Dolby Cinema, the center will host an Ultra 4DX theater equipped with the latest generation of immersive technology. This includes a 270-degree panoramic screen, 4DX dynamic seating, and environmental effects, with enhanced integration of effects into the seating system to maximize screen visibility. Another significant attraction is Vieshow Cinemas' proprietary LED Screen 'light-sensing' theater. This innovative space is designed to synchronize audience devices, such as light sticks and bracelets, with on-screen lighting effects, movie content, and even live performances, promising a deeply engaging experience.

The 'Taichung Popular Music Center' represents a collaboration between Vieshow Cinemas and Advantech, building on their previous partnership. This venture aims to establish a flagship cinema in central Taiwan, offering a viewing experience distinct from traditional theaters. The LED Screen theater, in particular, is envisioned as a versatile space capable of hosting not only film screenings but also animated theater events and concerts. With Vieshow Cinemas already holding a significant market share in Taiwan, the addition of this new complex is expected to further solidify its presence and significantly enhance the film and entertainment landscape in Taichung.
