Taiwan's Peng Yu-han Reaches WTT Grand Smash Quarterfinals, Earns Career-Best Ranking

Eighteen-year-old Taiwanese table tennis player Peng Yu-han's surprising run in the WTT European Grand Smash ended in the quarterfinals after a 1-4 loss to China's world No. 2 Wang Manyu. Despite the defeat, Peng secured a career-high prize of $13,750 and 630 ranking points, propelling her world ranking to an anticipated career-best of around 30 from her current 69.

This performance also marks a significant leap in her national standing. Peng's total points will surpass 1,000, and her world ranking will place her second among Taiwanese women, closing in on top player Cheng I-ching. She has also secured direct qualification for next year's national team.
