Taiwan's U16 national baseball team has advanced to the semifinals of the Babe Ruth League U16 World Championship after a decisive 8-2 victory over Mexico. The quarterfinal match, held early on August 14 Taiwan time, saw the young Taiwanese players overcome pressure to secure their spot in the next round.

Starting pitcher Lin Guan-xun delivered a strong performance, holding Mexico to just 2 runs over 5 innings. The game remained close until the sixth inning, with Taiwan leading by a narrow margin. However, the Taiwanese batters rallied, unleashing a powerful offensive surge that added 4 crucial runs to extend their lead.
