Taiwanese Councilor Takes 4 Boxes of Farm Produce to Canada for Promotion

Changhua County Councilor Liu Shu-fang is heading to Canada to promote the agricultural products of her southern constituency. Liu, who also serves as the secretary-general of the KMT caucus in the Changhua County Council, will participate in the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in Canada. She is bringing over 10 types of agricultural specialties from southern Changhua, including Beidou pepper salt and Pitou fragrant rice, to display.

Liu stated that the cost of checked baggage for these products exceeded her airfare, but she considers it worthwhile to help local farmers expand their export channels and increase income. She will be accompanied by her son, Lin Kai-jie, who studied in Canada. He will assist with translation and perform traditional Taiwanese diabolo tricks at the event. This mother-son duo aims to promote Taiwanese culture and Changhua's agricultural produce, seeking new business opportunities for local farmers and attracting international tourists to southern Changhua.
