Taiwanese drama stars film intense water rescue and CPR scene

Taiwanese actors Lu Yen-tse and Kung Mei-le kicked off filming for the upcoming drama 'Tofu Mama' with an intense water rescue and artificial respiration scene. Lu Yen-tse portrays Peng Tzu-wei, a straightforward and kind character, while Kung Mei-le plays Wan Chen-chen, with whom he shares a developing romance.

Their first day on set involved a dramatic sequence where Lu Yen-tse's character emerges from the water, leading to Kung Mei-le's character performing CPR. The actors spent nearly an hour in the water, describing the experience as both challenging and a test of their commitment. Kung Mei-le humorously noted the difficulty of rescuing Lu Yen-tse, who is 25 centimeters taller than her, and the added complexity of performing the artificial respiration.

She found the situation unique and challenging, especially since the specific actions were revealed on set, leaving little time for preparation. The scene required multiple takes of jumping into the water and performing the rescue, with the actors working through wet costumes to capture the necessary shots.

Despite the demanding nature of the scene, both actors expressed satisfaction with the outcome and the beautiful natural setting of the filming location, described as a lakeside area surrounded by mountains. They found reassurance in the presence of lifeguards throughout the shoot. The challenging sequence, which involved significant physical exertion for Kung Mei-le, marked a memorable and demanding start to their collaboration on 'Tofu Mama'.
