Taiwanese Entrepreneur Honored as Model Elder for Philanthropy

Tsai Hui-ying, chairwoman of Renyi Lake Hotel, has been recognized as a model elderly person for her extensive social contributions and charitable work. The award ceremony, held by the Chinese Elderly Welfare Association, celebrated her dedication to community welfare.

Tsai, who has long resided in Alishan Township with her husband, has successfully managed various businesses including hotels, restaurants, and tea shops. She also chairs the Alishan Tea Production Cooperative and the Alishan Township United Community Development Association. Her efforts extend beyond business management to actively supporting national policies for local tourism and providing care for the elderly and disadvantaged in remote mountainous areas.

To improve healthcare access and mobility for seniors in the mountains, Tsai donated a rehabilitation bus to Alishan Township and a social welfare vehicle to the Chiayi County Social Affairs Bureau. These contributions bolster the transportation network for long-term care in remote regions. Furthermore, she champions women's rights by addressing "period poverty." She donated 300,000 New Taiwan dollars to the Chiayi County Food Bank to establish a dedicated section for women's hygiene products, ensuring that economically vulnerable girls can obtain these essential items for free.

As the head of the Alishan Tea Production Cooperative, Tsai organizes annual high-quality tea competitions and awards, aiming to enhance tea farmers' production techniques and boost their income. Her commitment to public service and business excellence, coupled with her dedication to corporate social responsibility, makes her a commendable role model for elder care and community engagement.
