Taiwanese machine tool chief urges cross-industry drone ecosystem

A forum in Taichung aimed to foster collaboration within Taiwan's burgeoning drone industry, encouraging local manufacturers to build a cross-domain ecosystem. The "Pioneering 2026 - Taichung Unmanned Vehicle Industry and Overseas Business Opportunities Forum" highlighted the potential for innovation and competitiveness.

Chen Shen-Teng, chairman of the Taiwan Machine Tool Accessories Industrial Association, stressed the importance of integrating the drone sector with Taichung's "Golden Valley" of industry. He called for manufacturers to unite and accelerate the development of the drone industry, with machine tools playing a crucial bridging role. Chen encouraged Taichung's processing and manufacturing sectors to prioritize Taiwanese smart manufacturing firms to drive the local ecosystem forward.

The forum underscored Taiwan's commitment to advancing its smart manufacturing capabilities and applying them to emerging technologies like drones.
