Taiwanese singer gifts mango treats to Japanese producer, finds 'mango soulmates'

Taiwanese singer Julia Wu delighted Japanese producer STUTS and his team with local delicacies, including a mango gift box and mango ice cream, during their visit. Many tourists seek out mango ice when traveling to Taiwan, and Wu's thoughtful gesture received a very positive response, much to her delight.

I'm a mango lover myself and really enjoy eating mangoes privately, so I specially prepared a mango gift box and mango ice cream to entertain them.

Wu, who has previously collaborated with STUTS on the EP 'With U,' which topped R&B album charts in both Japan and Taiwan, shared behind-the-scenes details from their recent concert in Taipei. "I'm a mango lover myself and really enjoy eating mangoes privately, so I specially prepared a mango gift box and mango ice cream to entertain them," she said. The Japanese crew, having not eaten since landing, were famished and quickly finished the mango ice cream, prompting Wu to exclaim she had found 'mango soulmates'.

Beyond the mangoes, Wu also presented STUTS and his staff with other Taiwanese pastries, such as mung bean cakes and pineapple cakes. These treats were packed in distinctive, traditional Taiwanese 'jiazhi' bags, which surprised and impressed the recipients, who praised her for her thoughtfulness.

Continuing their creative partnership, STUTS and Wu released a new single, 'Tokyo Lights Remix,' on July 8, featuring Japanese rapper Elle Teresa. Wu described Teresa as a "very cool Japanese girl, exuding a chic aura," and expressed her excitement about the rapper's contribution, which adds a distinctively Japanese girl-group style to the song. Wu is also scheduled to perform as a guest at STUTS's 10th-anniversary concert at the Tokyo Budokan on November 7.
