Takamul initiative boosts governance and procurement efficiency

Dhofar Municipality, in collaboration with the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, hosted an introductory meeting for the "Takamul" project, a national initiative designed to revolutionize government project and procurement management. The event brought together representatives from various government entities within the Dhofar Governorate.

The "Takamul" project seeks to establish a unified system for managing government projects, encompassing all stages from initial planning and tendering to contract execution, implementation, and final performance measurement. Its core objectives include enhancing governance, boosting transparency, and improving the efficiency of public spending.

Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Ba’Owain, Director General of Projects and Technical Affairs at Dhofar Municipality, emphasized the municipality's commitment to supporting national initiatives that modernize government operations. He highlighted that "Takamul" represents an institutional transformation, moving beyond a mere digital system to foster integration among government entities and streamline procedures. This, he noted, will positively impact performance quality and expedite decision-making.

Badr Ali Al Maamari, Head of the Project Management Office for the National System for Managing Technical Projects, explained that "Takamul" is an integrated national platform aimed at unifying government project and procurement management throughout Oman. It is designed to provide accurate data for informed decision-making, improve planning and follow-up, and contribute to achieving the goals of digital transformation and Oman Vision 2040.

The introductory meetings are crucial for empowering work teams, raising project awareness, and cultivating a supportive culture for change management, thereby ensuring the successful implementation of the project's upcoming operational phases.
