Talavante and Roca Rey triumph, leaving Estepona bullring with multiple honors

The Estepona bullring witnessed a triumphant afternoon for matadors Alejandro Talavante and Roca Rey, who both were carried out of the arena "a hombros" (on shoulders) after impressive performances.

Roca Rey, from Peru, captivated the crowd from the outset. In his first bull, he executed a daring close-quarters maneuver and delivered a powerful performance, earning two ears and a tail. He repeated his success with his second bull, securing another two ears despite facing strong winds, showcasing his command and emotional connection with the audience.

Spanish matador Alejandro Talavante also had a highly successful outing. He was awarded two ears for his skillful handling of the first bull and added another ear later in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Juan Ortega delivered a performance described as "exquisite" and "very torero" with his second bull, demonstrating great taste and composure. However, his efforts were ultimately unrewarded with trophies due to errors with the sword.

The event, held during the local fair, saw a near-full stadium despite windy conditions. The bulls, from the Luis Algarra Polera ranch, were generally well-presented, noble, and performed well.
