Tangerang's Deputy Mayor, Maryono Hasan, highlighted the crucial role of the community protection unit, known as Linmas, in ensuring local regulations are understood and adhered to by residents. He described Linmas as the government's front-line force for maintaining order and fostering a harmonious community life.

When you hear the term Local Regulation, what often comes to mind is a rigid rule. However, Perda is not intended to make things difficult, but rather as a guideline so that life together runs more orderly, fairly, and provides certainty for all citizens.

Maryono explained that local regulations, or Perda, are often misunderstood as rigid rules. Instead, he emphasized that these regulations serve as guidelines to promote a more orderly, just, and predictable life for all citizens. He stressed that building an orderly, safe, and comfortable city requires not only regulations but also active public awareness and participation.

As a concrete example, Maryono pointed to Local Regulation Number 7 of 2005, which prohibits the circulation of alcoholic beverages. He stated that Linmas's involvement is essential to ensure this rule is not just a document but is actively implemented on the ground. "We want to ensure that every policy does not just stop as an administrative document but is truly understood and implemented together," he said, adding that good regulations become a part of daily public awareness.

He reminded them that future development challenges will be complex, requiring the support of Linmas and a law-abiding public to achieve a more secure and comfortable Tangerang.
