Tanker Crew Abandons Ship After Projectile Strike Off Oman Coast

The crew of a commercial tanker evacuated their vessel after it was struck by an unidentified projectile off the Omani coast near Limah, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The incident, which occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, resulted in a fire aboard the tanker. The vessel's company security officer confirmed that the crew safely abandoned ship and entered a lifeboat following the attack. This event follows claims by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that explosions caused "massive fires" aboard two oil tankers attempting to navigate a southern shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz.
