Taoyuan's Wenzhong kindergarten and community center completed, to be handed over in July

Construction of the Wenzhong non-profit kindergarten and community center in Taoyuan City is complete, with the facility set for handover to the Education Bureau and Taoyuan District Office in July. The new building is designed to address the increasing need for public childcare and community spaces in the Wenzhong area, which has seen significant residential development and a growing child population.

The facility, located at the intersection of Lixing Road and Wenzhong 2nd Road, spans approximately 36,980 square meters. The three-story building features a total floor area of about 2,326 square meters. The first and second floors are dedicated to the kindergarten, offering indoor activity rooms, offices, a kitchen, and play areas. The third floor houses the community center, including a multi-purpose room for 150 people, an indoor play area, and other amenities. Nine parking spaces are also included.

With a total project cost of approximately NT$186.08 million, including a NT$39.05 million subsidy from the Ministry of Education, the project was completed in April and is currently undergoing final inspections. The design emphasizes a modern, minimalist style with clean lines, white facades, and large glass windows to maximize natural light. The architecture incorporates a low-floor open lattice design for visual permeability and layered aesthetics, reducing the building's visual bulk. Separate entrances for the kindergarten and community center enhance safety for young children.

The project's planning incorporates universal design principles, creating a bright and comfortable learning environment. Outdoor spaces feature green landscaping, aiming to provide a friendly environment that integrates education, living, leisure, and ecology. The new center aims to offer children a safe and high-quality learning environment while providing a convenient gathering space for local residents, enhancing the overall quality of life in the developing area.
