Taoyuan Youth Entrepreneurship Expo to Feature International Platform for Startups

The Taoyuan Youth Entrepreneurship Expo is set to transform the Taoyuan Exhibition Center into a hub for international innovation and business on August 5-6. Co-organized by the Taoyuan City Government and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the expo will spotlight three key areas: smart healthcare, smart manufacturing, and green technology.

The event aims to foster global connections by bringing together international accelerators, corporations, venture capitalists, and innovation partners. It provides a platform for startup teams, business representatives, and investors to explore global innovation trends, expand cross-border cooperation networks, and seize new business opportunities.

Hou Jia-ling, Director of the Taoyuan City Government's Department of Youth Affairs, highlighted the expo's success, noting that last year's event, combined with ITRI's BIOMED-X expo, generated NT$400 million in business opportunities and linked innovation resources from eight countries. This year, a "Startup Stars Competition" will select 12 teams across the three focus areas, with champions in each category receiving NT$100,000, totaling NT$300,000 in prize money.

Over 200 one-on-one business matchmaking sessions are scheduled, involving nearly 30 companies, medical institutions, venture capital firms, and professional service providers. These include prominent names like King's Precision, Yung Shin Pharmaceutical, M.I.T. Inc., AMAREX, BSI, CHENG-YEH BIOMEDICAL, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, PwC, and China Investment. They will offer resources for technology R&D, medical field validation, regulatory consulting, market expansion, and investment matching to accelerate product commercialization and business development for startups.

Three international forums will feature representatives from companies and institutions such as Foxconn Technology Group, PwC, UC Davis Health, the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, Mahidol University in Thailand, and ANCHOR KOBE in Japan. They will share insights on AI, biomedical innovation, smart manufacturing, green technology, and global industry trends.
