TAUD Presents Evidence in Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Pre-Trial Hearing

The legal battle surrounding the alleged acid attack on Andrie Yunus continues as the Tim Advokasi untuk Demokrasi (TAUD) presented its evidence during a pre-trial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Friday, May 22, 2026. The focus of this hearing was the evidence submitted by TAUD, which represents Yunus.

TAUD is specifically contesting what they term "undue delay" by the police in handling the case. Their petition to the court includes a demand for the Polda Metro Jaya to proceed with the investigation. In a previous hearing, Andrie Yunus's legal counsel, Yosua Octavian, requested that the police be ordered to continue the legal process for police report number LP/A/222/III/2026 and to transfer the case to the public prosecutor within a maximum of 14 days after the court's decision is delivered.

Lawyers for Andrie Yunus argue that there has been a lack of clarity regarding the investigation of the Model A police report. They have not received a formal termination of investigation notice (SPPP). Wildanu Syahril Guntur, another lawyer from TAUD, stated on Monday, May 18, 2026, that they have not received an SP3 (letter of termination of investigation) for Andrie's case, even though the case files were previously transferred to the TNI Military Police Center. This suggests, according to TAUD, that the investigation within the police force is still ongoing. TAUD filed the pre-trial motion to challenge the legality of the investigation's termination by Polda Metro Jaya, with the respondent being the Head of Polda Metro Jaya, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri.

From the letters submitted by the police, it turns out there was never an official notification that the Model A case of Andrie Yunus had been terminated. So the examination process at the police is still ongoing.
