Taufik Hidayat Faces Decades in Prison on Multiple Charges

Taufik Hidayat, a suspect accused of severe assault and planned abduction, faces a potential prison sentence of several decades in West Java, Indonesia. The Directorate of Child Protection and Human Trafficking (Ditres PPA and PPO) of the West Java Regional Police has layered multiple charges against him for allegedly torturing and holding a victim, identified by the initials YTR (29), captive for three years.

Following an investigation meeting on Friday, July 3, 2026, police announced the addition of sexual violence charges against Hidayat. Kabid Humas Polda Jawa Barat, Kombes Hendra Rochmawan, stated that Hidayat was initially charged under Article 451 for abduction and Article 469 Paragraph 1 for premeditated severe assault. Each of these charges carries a maximum sentence of 12 years imprisonment.

A reconstruction of the alleged crimes took place at the West Java Regional Police headquarters in Bandung. This process involved 21 scenes and is considered crucial for establishing the timeline and details of the abuse that reportedly spanned three years. The reconstruction aimed to clarify the chronology of events across various crime scenes associated with the alleged mistreatment of Yuvita Tri Rezeki.
