Tây Ninh orders businesses around Long An Stadium to vacate by September 2026

Businesses operating around Long An Stadium in Tây Ninh province have been ordered to vacate the premises by September 1, 2026. The directive comes from the Training and Competition Center for Sports, which is returning the land to the Long An Ward People's Committee for management.

The order affects over 20 fixed businesses that have operated in the stadium area for years. While some business owners had requested to stay until after the September 2nd holiday, many have already begun dismantling their operations. The move is part of a provincial decision to reclaim the land, previously designated for commercial auction with a starting bid of over 1.8 trillion Vietnamese dong, though the auction never materialized.

Long An Stadium, built in 1984 on a 7.5-hectare site, is in a state of severe disrepair. The facility, which includes a training field, multi-purpose stadium, and swimming pool, is rarely used for major sporting events. The dilapidated condition, particularly the stands, has drawn complaints from local residents who use the area for exercise. The provincial government plans to develop the site into a public park and square.
