Taylor Swift to Debut Original Song for Toy Story 5

Taylor Swift is set to lend her musical talents to the highly anticipated Disney-Pixar film, Toy Story 5. The pop superstar will release an original song titled "I Knew It, I Knew You" for the upcoming sequel. This collaboration follows cryptic "TS" initials teased in previous promotional materials for the film.

Swift shared her enthusiasm for the project on Instagram, revealing her lifelong admiration for the Toy Story franchise. "I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie," she wrote. She further explained that she was inspired to write the song immediately after seeing an early screening of Toy Story 5, stating, "I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening."

The song is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026, just ahead of Toy Story 5's theatrical debut on June 19, 2026. The new installment of the animated franchise will explore Bonnie's growing attachment to digital devices, leading her old toys to feel sidelined. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the gang face a new challenge from Lilypad, a disruptive tablet device with its own ideas about Bonnie's best interests.

Toy Story 5 will introduce new characters, including Lilypad voiced by Greta Lee, Atlas the toy hippopotamus voiced by Craig Robinson, and Snappy the camera-based toy voiced by Shelby Rabara. Bonnie will be voiced by Scarlett Spears, with Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze and Matty Matheson as Dr. Nutcase. Conan O'Brien will voice Smarty Pants, a tech-driven toy. The film will also feature the return of original voice actors Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Wallace Shawn as Rex, and Annie Potts as Bo Peep.
