TCL expands its smartphone offerings in Argentina with Nxtpaper 70 Pro and K70 series

Chinese electronics giant TCL is significantly broadening its smartphone presence in Argentina, introducing four new models designed to capture market segments previously untapped by the company. This move is part of a global strategy that also emphasizes local adaptation and market growth.

Gustavo Vázquez Gastaldi, Commercial and Marketing Manager for TCL Argentina, highlighted the company's 12-year history selling mobile phones in the country and expressed confidence in their readiness to pursue new market segments. He noted that current economic conditions, particularly the rising cost of memory components affecting budget phones, create an opportune moment to focus on the mid-range market.

The company will manufacture these devices in Tierra del Fuego through its traditional partner, Radio Victoria. The flagship model is the Nxtpaper 70 Pro, an upgrade from its predecessor. It features TCL's proprietary Nxtpaper screen technology, which uses a polarizing filter to reduce glare and mimic the low-power, eye-friendly characteristics of e-ink displays, while still supporting vibrant color video and 120 Hz refresh rates. The Nxtpaper 70 Pro boasts a 6.9-inch Full HD display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip, 8 GB of RAM, 256 or 512 GB of storage, and a 5200 mAh battery. Its camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with PDAF, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, and a 32-megapixel front camera. Running Android 16, it offers three screen modes, standard, color paper, and monochrome paper, selectable via a side dial, with the monochrome mode specifically designed to reduce eye strain, limit notifications, and extend battery life significantly, potentially up to a week of use.

In addition to the Nxtpaper 70 Pro, TCL is launching the K70 line in Argentina, comprising three variants: K70, K70 Power, and K70 5G. The K70 Power, priced at 389,999 pesos with a launch discount, features a MediaTek Helio G100 chip, a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a large 6500 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It also includes IP64 water and dust resistance. The Nxtpaper 70 Pro will initially retail for 649,999 pesos for the 256 GB version and 699,999 pesos for the 512 GB model, with prices increasing to 699,999 and 759,999 pesos, respectively, after an initial period.
