TDP announces three Rajya Sabha candidates for upcoming elections

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has announced its official candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, finalizing its seat-sharing arrangement within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Andhra Pradesh. The party will contest three seats, while the Jana Sena Party will field one candidate.

Sana Satish, Bashyam Ramakrishna, and Chintakayala Vijay have been nominated by the TDP. Lingamaneni Ramesh filed his nomination papers for the Jana Sena Party on Saturday.

Political activity is intensifying nationwide as candidates file nominations for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections. The elections, scheduled for June 18, will fill 24 seats across ten states, potentially leading to a significant shift in the legislative body's composition. The Election Commission issued a notification for these elections on June 1, with the nomination deadline set for June 8. The seats include multiple vacancies in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand, along with single seats in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, and Meghalaya. Additionally, by-elections will be held for one seat each in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha.
