Teacher fired in Guanajuato for inappropriate conduct with students; parents demand investigation

The Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato (SEG) has permanently dismissed a teacher from Secundaria General No. 20 Centeotl in Acámbaro, Guanajuato, following allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct with third-grade students. The decision comes after videos circulated on social media in July, showing the teacher allegedly engaging in erotic behavior and simulating sexual acts with his adolescent students.

One video depicts the teacher sitting on a chair with a student, straddling him with his legs open. Parents and community members expressed outrage over the teacher's actions and demanded a thorough investigation. The SEG's Regional Delegation VII confirmed that an investigation was launched upon the dissemination of the videos, leading to the teacher's definitive separation from his duties as of August 18, 2026.

Once the corresponding actions were carried out, his definitive separation from teaching functions was determined, so as of this August 18, 2026, he is no longer part of the Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato.

The SEG issued a strong statement emphasizing its commitment to protecting the integrity, safety, and well-being of children and adolescents. The authority declared that it will not tolerate any conduct that jeopardizes minors. "In any situation of this nature, we will act with firmness, responsibility, and strict adherence to the law, always prioritizing the best interests of children and adolescents," the statement read.

In addition to the dismissal, the SEG announced it will provide psychological support and accompaniment to students, teachers, and staff affected by the incident. The secretariat also pledged to take necessary follow-up actions to ensure a safe and respectful school environment. The investigation and subsequent dismissal aim to uphold the highest standards of safety and ethical conduct within the educational system.
