Teacher Reassignment 2026 in Peru: Final List of Over 61,000 Positions and Official Schedule Released by Minedu

Peru's Ministry of Education (Minedu) has finalized the list of 61,224 vacant teaching positions available for the 2026 Teacher Reassignment process. This initiative allows tenured educators to transfer to new institutions while retaining their roles, modality, level, or cycle, and subject area.

A total of 71,543 tenured teachers nationwide participated in the call for applications. The final list of vacancies was published after regional education directorates and local educational management units validated the available positions, ensuring a transparent and timely process for all applicants.

The reassignment process is ongoing, with several key stages remaining. Minedu has outlined a schedule that includes the publication of the final list of eligible and ineligible applicants on July 7, followed by a period for submitting appeals on July 8 and 9. The final merit list for the local unit stage will be published on July 14, with position adjudications scheduled for July 15 and 16. Teachers can expect their reassignment resolutions to be issued between July 17 and 21.

Minedu urges participating teachers to carefully review the official regulations, timeline, and publications to ensure timely compliance with each step of the process. The ministry aims to facilitate a smooth transition for educators seeking to relocate for personal reasons or family unity.
