Teachers’ Day: Uttar Pradesh CM praises educators for carrying knowledge tradition to new generation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath used Teachers' Day to praise educators for carrying the state's “unique tradition of knowledge” into the modern era.

In an Instagram reel, Adityanath described Uttar Pradesh as a historic center of knowledge, spiritual practice and cultural values. He highlighted Kashi's role in spreading knowledge and Sarnath, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. He also named Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan and Prayagraj as important centers of the Sanatan knowledge tradition.

Since ancient times, Uttar Pradesh has been a sacred land of knowledge, spiritual practice, and cultural values. Kashi illuminated the world with the light of knowledge, while Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Sarnath.

The chief minister said the spiritual practices of 88,000 sages at Naimisharanya enriched India's intellectual heritage. He also credited the region with the development of traditions in Ayurveda, spirituality, philosophy and Indian knowledge and science.

Adityanath said teachers today are shaping the future by connecting that heritage with modern education, technology and innovation. He paid tribute to educators who pass the tradition to a new generation in a contemporary context.

In a Hindi post on X, he also honored former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary. He congratulated teachers who illuminate the nation's future “with the light of knowledge, values and character.” Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also posted tributes.
