Tears and Prostrations of Gratitude Mark IPDN Civil Servant Inauguration

An atmosphere of deep emotion filled the campus of the Institute of Domestic Governance (IPDN) in Jatinangor, West Java, as 1,204 graduates of the XXXIII class, known as Pamong Praja Muda, were officially inaugurated. President Prabowo Subianto presided over the ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the aspiring civil servants who are poised to become future leaders and key drivers of bureaucratic reform in Indonesia.

The newly inaugurated Pamong Praja Muda are tasked with a crucial role: to spearhead the nation's bureaucracy and contribute to the successful implementation of national development programs. This cohort includes graduates from various programs, encompassing applied bachelor's degrees in government science, applied master's degrees, doctoral degrees, and professional education in governance.

The inauguration ceremony was particularly poignant, with many graduates expressing their gratitude and emotion by prostrating themselves at the feet of their parents immediately after being sworn in. This deeply symbolic gesture reflects the profound respect and appreciation for the sacrifices and support received from their families throughout their academic journey.

President Subianto, accompanied by several high-ranking officials including the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, participated in a photo session with the graduates. The 1,204 Pamong Praja Muda will be assigned to various government environments, both central and regional, across Indonesia, including in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas, according to the needs of the civil servant formation.
