Tears won’t stop falling, Fuji icon Pasuma mourns Ogogo

Fuji music icon Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, widely recognized as Ogogo. Pasuma took to his official Instagram page to share an emotional tribute, calling the news a "nightmare" and a substantial loss to the Nigerian film industry.

"My heart is completely broken; writing this feels like a nightmare I can’t wake up from," Pasuma wrote. He lamented the loss of his "dear brother," stating, "Yoruba cinema will never be the same without your towering presence and beautiful soul; the tears won’t stop falling, but I find comfort knowing you are resting in perfect peace."

The musician also offered prayers for Ogogo's family: "May Almighty Allah grant you Al-Jannah Firdaus and wrap your beautiful family in His comfort. Sun re o, egbon mi." The tribute comes amid a wave of grief across Nigeria following the actor's death and subsequent burial.

Ogogo passed away after a protracted battle with stage-four cancer. His passing has been met with widespread tributes from prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun. These dignitaries, along with many others in the creative community, lauded Ogogo's decades of dedication to Nigerian arts and culture before he was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
