TECHO Paraguay Launches 2026 National Fundraiser, Seeking 8,400 Volunteers

TECHO Paraguay has launched its 2026 National Collection with a goal of raising 1.55 billion guaraníes to reach more than 500 families facing inadequate housing.

The collection will take place on Friday, Sept. 4, and Saturday, Sept. 5, in Asunción, Central, Alto Paraná, Caaguazú, Itapúa and Concepción. TECHO Paraguay plans to mobilize about 8,400 volunteers at 211 collection points.

Young people aged 15 and older can join the campaign, which seeks both to raise money and draw attention to housing precariousness. The organization is asking the public to participate as donors, volunteers or corporate partners. It suggests 10,000 guaraníes as a starting donation.

The funds will support the construction of emergency homes and other habitat solutions in popular settlements. TECHO says better flooring can have an immediate effect on family health. Its institutional report “Beyond a Roof” found that 42% of families in informal settlements had respiratory problems before receiving an emergency home, while 38% frequently experienced coughing and congestion.

At the launch in Distrito Perseverancia, visitors can see a model home installed in Parque Elevado. The display is intended to show how public donations are turned into housing responses for vulnerable communities.
