Teen Daughter Arrested for Pouring Boiling Water on Mother in South Korea

A teenage daughter in Namyangju, South Korea, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her mother with boiling water. The incident occurred early on the morning of the 15th, when the daughter, who is past the age of criminal responsibility for minors, allegedly poured boiling water from an electric kettle onto her mother.

According to police reports, the altercation began when the daughter attempted to run away from home after an argument. When the mother intervened and took away her daughter's phone to prevent her from leaving, the daughter retaliated by throwing the boiling water.

Neighbors reported the incident, leading to the police apprehending the daughter as a suspect caught in the act. The mother sustained second-degree burns to her head and body and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
